ABOUT US

The Michigan Coalition of Immigrant and Refugee Rights (MCIRR) was established in 1992.  MCIRR is composed of member organizations, who are recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

MCIRR aims to support member organizations with quarterly meetings with updates on the current issues and concerns affecting our immigrant community.  MCIRR also hosts an annual summit to address the most pressing issues for our community.

MCIRR supports and defends immigrants in local, state, and federal policies and legislation by participating in sign-on or comment campaigns

Our collective mission is to:

  • 1) coordinate educational and organizational efforts that build capacity within Michigan’s immigrant advocacy community

  • 2) support immigrants’ rights in federal, state, and local policy

  • 3) promote a more positive and inclusive atmosphere for immigrants and refugees in Michigan.
